It responds to the legal obligation of the Commission to periodically evaluate the progress in the implementation of the Directives, on the basis of monitoring and reporting by the Member States. The measures adopted within the framework of the Habitats Directive (Directive 92/43/EC) aim at maintaining or restoring, in a favourable conservation status, natural habitats and wild species of fauna and flora of Community interest. The Directive defines the term ""conservation status"" according to several parameters: area of ​​distribution, population, surface area of ​​the habitat, suitable habitat for the species, structure and functions of the habitats and future prospects.[es]El Servicio WMS (Web Map Service) denominado ""Distribución de Especies Artículo 17 (período 2013-2018)"" permite la visualización y consulta del conjunto de datos que representan la Cartografía de distribución de especies. Responde a la obligación legal de la Comisión de evaluar periódicamente los progresos en la aplicación de las Directivas, sobre la base de una labor de seguimiento y notificación por parte de los Estados miembros. Las medidas adoptadas en el marco de la Directiva de Hábitats (Directiva 92/43/CE) tienen como finalidad el mantenimiento o el restablecimiento, en un estado de conservación favorable, de los hábitats naturales y de las especies silvestres de la fauna y de la flora de interés comunitario.
