Fecha de la noticia: 21-07-2016

The organizing committee of the International Open Data Conference has published the programme (draft) of the event that will take place during the 6th to 7th October in Madrid. Last March the call for proposals was opened to create the agenda of IODC 2016. During six weeks, hundreds of projects from around the world were received, organized in three areas of work - Call for impact, Call for sharing and Call for Action-, all proposals were evaluated and selected by a committee formed by more than thirty experts, representatives of the most important institutions in the international open data sector.
Thus, participants in this big open data event will have the opportunity to attend two days full of activities designed to discuss in detail about a wide range of fields such as education, environment, corruption or agriculture thanks to more than twenty seven sectoral sessions where different speakers will share their experiences and knowledge in each of the fields.
In addition, during the second part of the first day, there will be six regional talks -Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North Africa and North America- led by two experts who will discuss about specific open data initiatives which have real impact on the lives of people from those geographical areas.
In Friday morning different meetings and working groups will take place to build a roadmap for the global open data community in six specific areas: charter, standards, innovation, global objectives, capacity and impact measurement. The rest of the day will be reserved for sessions belonging to the category Call for Sharing, meetings to share industry knowledge, discuss specific topics and compile good practices among all participants gathered.
Each meeting, talk, presentation and workshop is free; however, due to the limited number of places, all those interested in attending the sessions should pre-register through the online form available on the website of the the Conference, this period will remain open until full capacity. See you in IODC 2016!
