Fecha de la noticia: 08-07-2016

Pre-registration has opened for attendance at the 4th International Conference on Open Data, IODC16, to be held on 6 and 7 October in Madrid. IODC16 is the meeting point for the world community to discuss and study the future of Open Data. This new edition will bring together the world community under the theme "Global goals, local impact."

The pre-registration form for those interested in this event is available on the website of the Conference. To ensure orderly access and due to the limited number of places, the pre-registration period will remain open until full capacity.

The conference aims to facilitate learning and provide a space for collaboration and meeting with the best world experts in Open Data. The program for IODC 16 falls within these three areas:

  1. Gather together the most innovative solutions and Open Data practices that are having a social and economic impact in areas such as health, gender, cities, education, science, agriculture and many more.
  2. Identify and explore both new opportunities and new debates that are shaping the agenda of Open Data.
  3. Consolidate international open data collaboration that will be able to drive the development of common global resources for the international Open Data community.

Open data pre-events in the IODC16 week

Before the official opening of IODC16, Madrid will host a number of prior events organized by different public and private institutions related to open data.

In this way all participants in IODC16 will have a great range of activities available to them during the days beforehand in the designated areas in different parts of the city, which will become for a few days the world capital of Open Data. These preliminary activities will address different aspects of Open Data.

For example, the use of open data in extractive industries will be addressed, the outcome of existing accelerators and incubators in Europe will be analyzed, and will be contributions from startups that base their work on the use of open data, or the subject of open data of linguistic interest will be addressed, among other initiatives.

Open workshops and conferences will also be held that will allow participants to propose their own subjects for discussion and share experiences.

The calendar of events is available on the Conference website. You can follow all the news from the Conference through the social networks: on Twitter using the hashtag #IODC16 or the IODC16 Facebook page.
