Dear Sirs,
I am writing on behalf of DAC Beachcroft LLP, an international law firm with particular expertise in data protection and cyber security.
We are currently conducting a market analysis of post-GDPR increases of data breach notifications.
Such an increase is expected in light of the change from the old European Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC), where there was no obligation for data controllers to notify parties of data breaches, to Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR, providing for mandatory notifications to yourselves (as a supervisory authority) and in some cases, data subjects.
In light of the above, we are writing to kindly enquire whether you have any statistics of either/and the following:
1-. Numbers of data breach notifications between 25 May 2018 and today or any earlier date of this summer; and/or
2-. Comparable numbers of data breach notifications for the same time period for 2017 or any other previous year; and/or
3-. A percentage-expressed increase of data breach notification (in case you are not at liberty to provide specific numbers); and/or
4-. Any other statistical information related to the expected increase of data breach notifications post-GDPR which you may have obtained over the course of the summer and up to today.

Answer:
The "Agencia Española de Proteccion de Datos" has registered the following data breach notifications:
- Since May 25, 418 notifications of security breaches have been received.
- In 2017, 20 notifications of security breaches were received.
