Datos.gob.es launches a series of reports on disruptive technologies and open data

Data is a fundamental element of disruptive technologies that are meant to change our world. Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things... All of them need data, as raw material for their training or for the analysis that allow us to better understand our social and economic environment.
Given this situation, in datos.gob.es we have launched a series of reports on “Emerging technologies and open data”. The objective is to help the reader understand how these technologies work, what is the role of (open) data in them and what will be their impact on our society.
Each of the reports has 3 sections based on a methodology called “Awareness, Inspire, Action”.
These three sections are complementary, but can also be addressed independently. The content depth increases progressively from the Awareness section to the Action section:
- Awareness serves as an introduction to the subject in question. This section is indicated for the reader who starts on the topic for the first time and tries to address the topic in a simple and clear way, without abusing technicalities.
- Inspire contains examples and use cases of the selected technology in everyday situations. It is aimed at those readers who have started in the field and who wonder how this technology affects their daily lives.
- Action develops in a practical way one of the use cases mentioned in the Inspire section, using real data and technological tools. The example is made available to the reader in the form of code and open data so that he/she can experiment and develop the use case that is addressed in the Action section with its own means.
This structure seeks to respond to both the non-expert reader, to introduce the subject, as well as those more advanced users.
The first volume of the series, dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, is now available in the documentation section.
