Biyiud is an innovative method of payment by means of people's eco-attributes, which helps to increase the eco-value in the market of truly ethical and green companies. It aims to reward users who make a contribution to sustainability with access to new eco-friendly products and services from ethical and green companies.
Its business model is based on data management to transform data into added value for people and companies. Biyiud also functions as a decentralised sustainability evaluation system. The results are regularly published on its portal.
Main products and services
Biyiud has a portal where they validate the social and environmental attributes of ethical and green individuals and organisations, to give them a sustainability Eco-Rating, as well as access to benefits linked to sustainable production and responsible consumption. Anyone can register at: https://biyiud.com/.
They also offer a personalised URL, with which users and organisations can publicise their contribution to sustainability on social networks or through their email signature. It is what they call a "landing page" with sustainability eco-rating.
Key to success
Biyiud aims to accelerate the transition to a green economy by empowering consumers in the energy transition, the circular economy and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is considered by Acció (Generalitat de Catalunya) as one of the thirty most disruptive companies in Catalonia.
Growth
They currently operate in Barcelona, but are looking to grow globally to be the key consumer empowerment system of the new green economy.
Future plans
To grow in the Spanish, European and global market in all sectors linked to sustainability, focusing the value proposition on truly ethical and green companies.
Data used
They use open and private data:
- Consumption data of individuals.
- Production and service data from organisations.
With regard to open data, they use the electricity self-consumption registers for Catalonia, although they are currently seeking access to this register for the whole of Spain. They also use data from the electricity system, for example, data from REE's ESIOS.
