Chapter II of the Data Governance Act (DGA) establishes mechanisms to promote the reuse of public sector data. These mechanisms apply to data that cannot be published as open due to protection based on commercial or statistical confidentiality, intellectual property rights, or privacy safeguards.

In Spain, the platform datos.gob.es has been designated as the National Single Information Point (NSIP). Through this point, citizens, businesses, and researchers can request access to protected public sector data. It is important to note that access to this information is not free; it is provided through secure processing environments and under the conditions set out in Article 5 of the DGA. Once your request is registered, it will be forwarded to the competent public authority, which will be responsible for evaluating the application and providing a response.

If your request concerns open data, data not subject to confidentiality, use the following link to submit it: Open data request.

If you want to learn more about secure processing environments or submit your request directly to one of the data holders, use the following link: Secure processing environments.
