Monthly and cumulative activity of the ICO-MIVAU Guarantee Scheme for the purchase of a first home, by autonomous community and province

Description

This dataset provides a detailed overview of the monthly and cumulative trends in activity under the ICO MIVAU Guarantee Scheme for the purchase of a first home, since financial institutions began offering it. The information is broken down by autonomous community and province, enabling an analysis of the geographical distribution of the scheme’s uptake.

The ICO MIVAU Guarantee Scheme is aimed at young people and families with dependent children who are financially solvent but do not have the necessary savings to secure a mortgage. Thanks to the public guarantee, financial institutions can extend the coverage of the mortgage loan, enabling the financing to reach the valuation or purchase price under the established terms.

The table includes three sections of information:

• Cumulative data from the launch of the scheme up to February 2025. • Monthly data, which allows recent trends to be tracked. • Cumulative data up to December 2025, covering all months and providing an overall view of the activity.

The available indicators include the amount financed, the amount guaranteed, the number of transactions completed and the average value of the property purchased. Taken together, these data enable an assessment of the volume of financing mobilised, the extent of the public support provided by the ICO and the evolution of the residential market within the framework of this initiative."
