EarthPulse facilitates the access and usability of geospatial and satellite data. It uses artificial intelligence to power and accelerate indicator analytics that enable near real-time monitoring of assets and events, helping industries such as transportation, energy and environmental management to anticipate risks and make decisions with confidence.
Main products and services:
One of the most outstanding projects is SLOPES, for Abertis This use case demonstrates the use of advanced technology to analyse and manage landslide susceptibility in slopes and embankments. Its objective was to create a dynamic early warning system for risk management in areas vulnerable to slope instability, integrating historical landslide data, satellite technologies, meteorological APIs and advanced mathematical models.
- Pilot locations: Ruta 68 (Chile): Focused on the ‘Bajada Santos Ossa’ sector, a 6.9 km section (km 110+000 to km 101+500), with special attention to the high-risk slope ‘C1’. InSAR satellite technology was integrated to analyse deformation trends.
- BR-376 (Brazil): Addressed a 21 km section (km 652 to km 673), addressing significant landslide risks.
Results and impact: The project demonstrated the value of combining historical data with predictive models and advanced technologies. By anticipating high-risk periods days in advance, the system enabled better risk prevention, maintenance and upkeep of infrastructure. Pilots in Chile and Brazil demonstrated the scalability and adaptability of the solution to diverse geographies and risks.
Key to success:
EarthPulse stands out as an innovator in the field of geospatial and satellite data, driving digitisation and sustainability across multiple sectors. Its success is based on several key factors, one of the main ones being its main product, which stands out for being:
- A disruptive proposition: EarthPulse's main product enables access to and processing of satellite data through artificial intelligence, removing technical and economic barriers.
- Automation and efficiency: thanks to advanced technologies, it reduces costs and time in obtaining key information, optimising decision-making.
- Unprecedented accessibility: its democratising approach allows both experts and non-technical users to take advantage of the value of geospatial data with ease.
- Agile and flexible integration: its modular architecture and intuitive design makes it easy to implement into existing workflows, without the need for proprietary infrastructure or complex configurations.
- Constant innovation: applying agile methodologies, the company continuously improves its offering through feedback from user companies, ensuring an adaptable and scalable solution. With these pillars, EarthPulse not only optimises processes in strategic sectors such as energy, infrastructure and insurance, but also drives competitiveness and digital transformation globally.
Growth:
EarthPulse has maintained steady growth since its inception, expanding its team, strengthening its technology and increasing its revenues year on year. Since its launch, the company has grown from 4 members in 2022 to 10 in Q1 2025, reflecting its consolidation in the sector. In financial terms, revenues have grown from €203k in 2021 to a forecast €1.4M in 2025, driven by its SaaS platform and associated services. In addition, the company has won key contracts with ESA and other agencies, enabling it to validate its technology in demanding environments.
Future plans:
EarthPulse plans to continue its expansion in 2025 and beyond, focusing on three key areas:
- Team growth: The company plans to increase its workforce to 20 by the end of 2025, strengthening its technical, artificial intelligence and business teams. Specialists in software development, data science, management and communication will be added to sustain growth.
- Expansion into new sectors: Supply Chain EarthPulse already operates in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, utilities and insurance, but plans to enter Supply Chain due to its ability to optimise logistics routes, mitigate climate risks and improve transport resilience with geospatial analysis and artificial intelligence. As a first step in this sector, EarthPulse has secured a new project with ESA, in which it will collaborate with a Supply Chain company to develop a specific use case. This use case will serve to demonstrate how its technology can add value to the logistics sector, helping to validate its solution and establishing a gateway to more customers and projects in Supply Chain. Once this success case has been validated, the company will promote new business opportunities in the sector with the aim of making it one of its main markets along with infrastructures, utilities and insurance.
- Attracting more clients and strategic projects: EarthPulse plans to win more projects in both the institutional and private sectors, expanding its customer base in Europe and potentially other regions. The strategy includes establishing new partnerships with technology companies and consultancies to accelerate the adoption of its technology in different industries. Marketing strategies will be strengthened to consolidate its market presence and improve its competitiveness. With these forecasts, EarthPulse is preparing for a key expansion phase, consolidating its technology as an essential solution for critical sectors and positioning itself as a benchmark in satellite data analysis and artificial intelligence applied to decision-making.
Data used:
Data sources used for the featured Abertis use case: Public data from https://dataspace.copernicus.eu/
- Digital elevation models (DEM), rainfall time series, seismic activity, geological data, vegetation structure and soil moisture.
- Machine learning (ML) models: Random Forest Models and GLM regression estimated a criticality index, indicating the probability of landslides.
- Connection with meteorological APIs to generate 7 to 14-day forecasts, anticipating high-risk periods.
