Individuals score goals, but teams win games." Zig Ziglar.
Have you already signed up in IODC? Would you like to actively participate during the event? The organization of the International Open Data Conference has launched a call to find volunteers to help during the meeting, responsible for the following activities:
● Monitoring pre-event sessions and the subsequent publication of the conclusions in the shared documents from IODC.
● Support sessions through the social networks of the volunteer (blog, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn...).
● Broadcast via social media the workshops, meetings and discussions held during the conference, always following the guidelines set by the IODC team.
Thus, the role of volunteers is essential for the successful organization of the International Conference; they are responsible for identifying and sharing the key messages in each panel, and pre-session events. From which a general map of the meeting will be built for those who were unable to attend or lost any of the activities during the IODC.
In appreciation for the help of volunteers, all contributions will be recognized publicly, and be mentioned in the final report where the main results of the event are highlighted. Thanks to this document it will be possible to measure the progress achieved in the three working areas: Call for Impact, Call for Sharing and Call for Action. In parallel, thanks to the collaboration of those responsible for the latter area, the IODC blog has a number of posts dedicated to reflect, assess the progress and discuss the expectations of the open data actions during IODC 2016.
Open data culture cannot be understood without the collaboration of different stakeholders in the sector and the common knowledge. For this reason, this edition of IODC has organized a specific session, "My best open data fail", where participants will share their bad experiences with open data to accept the lessons and know the views of other members of the community. Those participants who want to participate with their "mistakes" may send them through an online form and the organizing committee of the session will select some of them to invite them to join on stage during the discussion. Do not wait to share your ideas and collaborate on IODC! Together we build the open data community!
