The Environmental Indicators Panel allows Spain's progress towards ecological transition to be monitored, tracking various objectives in areas such as climate change, material consumption and productivity, waste, energy, emissions, environmental taxation, green employment and biodiversity, among others. To this end, indicators are published that reflect the country's position in relation to the limits set and in comparison with European average trends.
The panel is divided into six sections:
- Climate change
- Circular economy
- Energy
- Biodiversity
- Water
- Footprints
The graphs clearly show the main environmental indicators for each topic. Where possible, comparisons with the European Union are also included. The metadata sheet for each graph contains a detailed description of each indicator, including data sources. The results button provides access to data tables, where users can make their selection and obtain the data in table form for download, or generate graphs in different formats.
This dashboard allows for the quantification of Spain's commitments under various international agreements, such as the European Green Deal, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the European Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, the RePowerEU Plan, and the Spanish Circular Economy Strategy. In addition, the dashboard provides full flexibility.
